If your video is comprised of interviews, try to get your b-roll after you’ve recorded all or most of the interviews. The reason is that inevitably the people interviewed will say certain things that may inspire the kind of b-roll you’ll want to shoot. Read more bladeronner.com.
I can't put my finger on what makes this trailer "cutting edge." Maybe it's the stunning cinematography-- but plenty of trailers have stunning cinematography. Maybe I'm biased, as a mountain biker myself. I just keep coming back to the script-- "This isn't a bike movie, it's a movie about a bike..." That, and the voiceover-- casual, grounded, and a little bit sexy. These are the things that took me by surprise, that made this video feel like the breath of fresh air you suck in after pedaling up a mountain. So even though I can't completely explain why, this trailer definitely deserves a mention on this page.
